Green Rock Fest Ruse started as a festival for young rock bands in 2009 in Ruse, Bulgaria. The initiator was Plamen Boiadzhiev – a guitar teacher from the city. The idea of the festival was to give a chance to bands at the beginning of their career to perform their music, find friends and play on one stage with local and world famous stars, to look after the nature heritage. Green Rock Fest Ruse can be proudly called a festival with traditions, which has been occupying an honorable place in the cultural calendar of the city for more than 10 years. The aspiration of its organizers to give way to young rock bands has not stopped since its first edition. Step by step and with great enthusiasm, besides talented musicians from all over Bulgaria, guests from Serbia, Greece, Macedonia, Romania, Turkey, an integral part of the history of Green Rock Fest are the participation of legendary names such as John Lawton, Joe Lynn Turner, Nazareth, Tim “Ripper” Owens, Milenko Matijevic, Bonfire and others.
